Travelling during COVID-19
Hi everyone,
This is my first entry so don't expect anything wonderful. In this blog I will focus on safety while travelling.
As we all now, we are living in a global pandemic situation. Many governments brought back lockdowns, restricting people ability to travel, and any type of social activities such as gatherings. Therefore, in this article I will write about travelling in the times of corona virus.
First of all, it is important to notice, that travelling was forbidden for a long period of time. Only since the 13th of June – European Union ‘opened’ the borders and many people decided to travel abroad, in particular to holiday destinations, while other decided to stay at home in order not to get infected. Open borders was a great opportunity for small businesses that suffered lack of money due to the lack of tourism during the lockdown, but at the same time created a threat for faster spread of the diseases. Also businesses have to prepare in a special way, applying strict hygienic standards. Airlines had to keep an unoccupied seat between two other seats. Hotels had to change cleaning procedures and also reorganise restaurants. Meals in form of buffet, are no longer allowed, so the food (including breakfast) has to be ordered to the table or guests’ rooms. Guest – staff contact is limited, in order to minimize risk of infection in case anyone would have SARS-CoV-2.Travellers are also required to wear masks in all transport means and public places and in some countries including open-air areas (streets).
I believe that all these safety measures are necessary to prevent uncontrolled spread of diseases.
Have a safe travel
D.
